About Still Me Rising
A nonprofit inspired by love, resilience, and the power of joy.
Our Story
Our son, Michael, has lived with refractory epilepsy for over 16 years.
Through his journey, our family discovered the healing power of creativity, movement, and connection — not as treatment, but as a way to cope, thrive, and feel fully human despite medical challenges.
Still Me Rising was born from this lived experience — a way to share that same hope and dignity with others walking a similar path.
Our Values
We are guided by what truly matters:
Dignity & Respect – honoring each person’s individuality
Creative Expression – exploring imagination through arts and movement
Community & Inclusion – fostering belonging and support
Purposeful Engagement – meaningful activities that inspire growth
Joy in the Everyday – finding delight in every moment
These guiding principles shape every program and experience we offer.
What We Do
Still Me Rising creates expressive, inclusive programs that focus on joy, identity, and belonging — not diagnosis.
Through Melodies of Me, creative arts, mindfulness, storytelling, and more, adults living with epilepsy and other neurological conditions can explore joyful outlets where they feel seen, heard, and supported.
Each session nurtures confidence, connection, and self-worth, fostering a life where creativity and community thrive.

Join the Movement
We believe people should be celebrated for their stories, strengths, and spirit — not defined by their conditions.
Together, we build that world, one session, one connection, one voice at a time.

The Story Behind Our Name
Still Me Rising reflects a simple truth: no matter life’s challenges — a diagnosis, a loss, or a change in ability — the person within remains.
Still us. Still whole. Still worthy. Still rising.
Inspired by Michael’s 16-year journey with epilepsy, the name celebrates the resilience and quiet strength of those who often feel unseen. Behind every label is a living soul, moving forward with hope and dignity.
We carry this message into every session, every conversation, every heartbeat — because you are still you, and you don’t rise alone.
Still Me Rising celebrates dignity, creativity, and resilience in adults living with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
